Earlier this afternoon both CCE and CLMS schools went on non-emergency lockdown at the request of law enforcement because of police activity in the neighborhood. The lockdown was cleared before 1:00 PM, and there was no threat to school safety at any time.

Presently, dismissal time and bus pick up are on their normal schedule for Wednesday.

We want to take a moment to review school lockdown procedures:

• During a lockdown, the safety of our students, faculty and staff is our number one priority;
• When a lockdown occurs, please do not attempt to telephone the school switchboard, as phone lines need to be kept clear for communicating with public safety and district officials;
• And finally, we will notify households using the SchoolMessenger dialer system to report on any school safety incident, and to give follow-up instructions for parents and guardians in the event of an emergency.
